Chunky Home Made Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

 

  • 1 large onion chunked
  • .5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of dried oregano
  • 1 kilo lean ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2-28oz cans of plum tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of  olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic peeled and diced
  • 4 5.5 oz cans of tomatoe paste
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 3 stalks of celery chunked
  • 1 package of fresh sliced mushrooms

Directions

This makes a LARGE pot of sauce, what is left over can be frozen! 

In a frying pan, brown and drain the ground beef.

In a large cooking pot medium high heat.
– add olive oil and let if get hot
– add celery and onions and stir
– add sliced mushrooms, diced garlic and stir
– add drained ground beef and stir
– add oregano cyanne pepper and stir
– add canned tomatoes, slice tomatoes in half, and stir
– add tomato paste, and stir
– add Worcestershire sauce and stir

You should NOT add salt or sugar there are enough in the canned tomatoes and onions.

When it starts to bubble lower heat to simmer, taste, add any additional spices to taste, garlic powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce. Stir and cover.

Stir occasionally.

Taste after 30 minutes and adjust spices once more.

Let simmer for 1 – 2 hours (depending how long you can wait before eating, it smells YUMMY!)
